Get Out and Notice

Welcome to, “Get Out and Notice”! Yet again, it’s been a while since the last “noticing” post, so it’s about time. I’ll share a few of the photos here, but there are more lovely ones housed at the Flickr group.

I started this challenge so that I would take more time to notice the beauty and little inspirations around me. Here’s a great picture by Allyson Francis, taken around April 16th. Allyson and I shared an apartment for a little while in college, she’s such a sweetheart, love you Allyson!

Here’s a fantastic close up by  LynAnne Wiest, and this isn’t her first featured photo on this post. Thanks for continually noticing beautiful things around you, LynAnne!

And here’s one that I took during our hike this weekend, I just love some of the plants that grow in our area…

Get Out and Notice

Welcome to, “Get Out and Notice”! I started this challenge so that I would take more time to notice the beauty and little inspirations around me, you know, when I’m out and about. I love how the three images for this week’s post are all in warm tones 🙂 Thank you DeAnza and LynAnne for sharing your lovely photos with us.

Get Out and Notice

Welcome to, “Get Out and Notice”! I apologize for lagging with this post, I suppose I haven’t been doing a very good job of noticing lately. So, rather than give up on the challenge, it’s time to get back to it!

I started this challenge so that I would take more time to notice the beauty and little inspirations around me. Here’s a beautiful picture by LynAnne, she has a good eye for natural beauty:

Here’s a delightful photo posted by my friend Beth. Her darling son, Brock, started his own rock collection. Isn’t that cute?!

Summer Succulent Garden

Hello there! It’s a wet, raining day her in San Luis Obispo, which is so fabulous for many reasons. For one, I can hear the pitter patter of rain on the roof as I work, which I love! For two, the beautiful succulent garden (behind our yard) that inspired my most recent paintings is actually getting some much needed water. Here are just a few “in progress” images I wanted to share…

I added lots of colorful layers underneath the final layer of paint.

I cut out some of the black and white photos I took and figured out an arrangement.

Welcome to the weekly post, “Get Out and Notice”! I started this challenge so that I would take time each week to step away from work, taking time to notice the beauty and little inspirations around me. Here is a few moments from this week:

I live really close to this bridge now and have discovered that my favorite coffee shop (SallyLoo’s) is just a 5 minute jog away!

Get Out and Notice

We have some beauties this week for #getoutandnotice! This weeks featured photos were submitted by LynAnne Wiest, and Mark Allman! Thank you for sending in some inspiration for us.

I especially love this photo taken in a junkyard, by LynAnne. It’s so gritty with a vintage feel.

And then there’s the vibrant red, splattered with raindrops, stunning.

This photo comes to us all the way from Virginia, thank you Mark! I’m sure you’re a bit more bundled up over there than we are here on the Central Coast.

Get Out and Notice

Welcome to the weekly post, “Get Out and Notice”! I started this challenge so that I would take time each week to step away from work, taking time to notice the beauty and little inspirations around me. Here’s a favorite “moment” from this week. I met up with a friend for coffee early on Monday morning. It had just rained and the lighting was so beautiful. I walked past a bunch of Birds of Paradise and they almost seemed to glow!
