Feast!

There’s something beautiful about gathering around the table with people you love.

Eating a delicious dinner is such a lovely experience. But there are two things that can make it even more wonderful, making all of it yourself with the ones you love and eating it in your own home with the ones you love. My sister, Candace and my brother-in-law, Stephen, came in to town an it’s such a joy having them in our home! When hubby came home, we all rolled up our sleeves and began to cook some great food together. There was conversation, laughter, snacking, hard work, etc. all happening in our kitchen. It was lovely. And when all the hard work was done, we got to sit down to enjoy the “foods of our labor”. I don’t think I’ve ever baked a pie from scratch before, especially not with fruit gathered from our own tree! What delight 🙂 My heart is full and glad.

What fun to enjoy time with Candace and Stephen. The best ‘treat’ ever! And how fun that everyone got to contribute to that delicious dinner. Plus Holly, you did a beautiful job on your homemade pie with the homegrown peaches — and I know you definitely appreciated Candace peeling and slicing those peaches, too! 🙂 My mouth is watering just looking at the wonderful meal! Yum!
I’m also very glad you two girls were able to get some ‘sweet’ sister-time, too. Whoo hoo! Love, ‘mil’ aka 🙂

    • Ooh, I wish you were here so we could share some with you! It’s SO good and we’ll have to make some more soon 🙂 David peeled a ton of peaches too, he did a lot to help with the pie. Love to you, MIL 🙂
